School Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for my friends who are there for me. Help us to show friendship and care for each other whilst respecting our differences.
Give me the courage to apologise and forgive others. Inspire us in our learning so we can strive to be the best we can be and give us the courage to be resilient and keep going when things are tough.
Please help us to achieve the confidence to believe in ourselves, so we can share our ideas with each other. Inspire us to be brave as we take the next step in our learning.
Jesus hear our prayer,
Amen.
Prayer at St Andrew’s
At St Andrew’s children have the chance to pray as part of collective worship. This is invitational and children are offered the chance to make our prayer theirs by saying ‘Amen’ at the end. We also have end of the day prayers which are read by children in class at the end of the day.
Children have the chance to spend time in our school prayer space or garden when they choose to. The prayer space has been created so children can choose how they want to use it. This could be for private or individual prayer or it could be for active prayer, by responding to one of the prayer space activities. Similarly, children can choose to use our sensory prayer garden for time to sit quietly or for personal prayer.
Sometimes teachers will take children in there to have some quiet time or to read to them whilst they sit and lay listening around the prayer garden. Our prayer garden was blessed and opened by Bishop Lynn in 2023 during her visit to the school. A copy of the blessing service and photos can be found below.
